DESIGN OF PILE CAPS AS PER IS: 456-2000 PROGRAM INFO & LIMITATIONS. ( Actual program is available in Super Civil CD )

The program designs pile cap as per IS:456-2000.

Truss theory is used for design of reinforcement.

Shear strength is enhanced at support as per clause 40.5 of IS:456-2000.

Spacing of piles shall be 2.5 times diameter of pile as per IS : 2911.

Clear Edge distance between pile & pile cap is kept as 150 MM on each side.

CG. of pile cap & column shall match, so that all piles are loaded equally.

Minimum pile thickness shall be 300 MM.

Self weight of pile cap is not taken in to account in design.

Ends of the bar shall be given full anchorage { LD } . The program calculates net required development length after giving due allowance to 90 degree bend & stress in bar.
