BASIS OF MASTER DATA SHEET
< M D S >
Essentially master data sheet < M D S > is a database management system.
Hence like any other DBM software, its functions include adding, deleting, retrieving, manipulating and copying records. Apart from the above functions it also displays / lists the following information which are of prime importance to Electrical Engineers.

5. CABLE SCHEDULE
6. CABLE MTO
7. CABLE GLAND

"M D S" is written in Visual Basic language. The style is structured and top down programming concept is used. The software is user friendly and error checking at every stage of data addition ensures that records are in proper format.

I hope this program will serve its intended purpose of reducing immensely the time required to complete a project from the Electrical engineering point of view.

NOTE : While adding records the user has to input the data in the following format.
ITEM FORMAT
Equipment Number Not greater than 8 characters
Equipment Description Not greater than 20 characters
Rating Format shall be like 12.5KW or 100A and it shall not be greater than 6 characters. The suffix of the input value shall be either KW or A.
RPM Shall be either of 750/1000/1500/3000.
Mounting Type Shall be either of B3, B5, B3/B5, B6, B7, B8, B14, V18, V19, V5, V6, V1, V3 only.
Construction Type Shall be either of IND-TEFC, FLP-EX(d), INCR-EX(e), NON-SP EX(n), CACW only.
Degree of Protection Format shall be "IPxy" where x & y are the values varying from 1 to 5.
Insulation Class Shall be either of B, E or F only.
Working Units (Loads) Shall be either of 1, 2 or 3.
Stand By Units (Loads) Shall be either of 0, 1, or 2.
MCC Number Shall lie between 1 to 99
PCC Number Shall lie between 1 to 99
Feeder Number Shall be x "F" y or x "R" y where x varies from 1 to 20 and y varies from 1 to 11.
Feeder Type Format Shall not be more than 3 characters and shall have either I, F, M, B as prefix.
Control Wiring Drawing No. Shall lie between from 1 to 99 only.
CT Ratio Shall not be greater than 9 characters and the format shall be ####/l/lA or ####/5/5A
Ammeter Range Shall be 0-xxxx/yyyyyA where xxxx and yyyyy are the values.
Push Button Type Shall be either of the following : 
Fl, F2, F3, F4, F5, F6, F7, F8, F9
Sl, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9
F1C, F2C, F3C, F4C, F5C, F6C, F7C, F8C, F9C
Designation of Power Cable Shall not be more than 6 characters.
Cable Gland Type Shall be either of S, D or F only.
Runs Shall not be greater than 9 Nos.
Power Cable Size Shall be either of the following.
2C*2.5, 2C*4, 2C*6, 2C*10, 2C*25, 2C*50
3C*2.5, 3C*4, 3C*6, 3C*10, 3C*16, 3C*25, 3C*35
3C*50, 3C*70, 3C*95, 3C*120, 3C*150, 3C*185
3C*225, 3C*240, 3C*300, 3C*400
3 1/2C*16, 3 1/2C*25, 3 1/2C*35, 3 1/2C*50

Power Cable Length Shall not be greater than 999 Meters.
Designation of Control Cable Shall not be more than 6 characters.
Control Cable Size Shall be either of the following.
2C*1.5, 3C*1.5, 4C*1.5, 5C*1.5, 6C*1.5, 7C*1.5
10C*1.5, 12C*1.5, 24C*1.5
2C*2.5, 3C*2.5, 4C*2.5, 5C*2.5, 6C*2.5, 7C*2.5
Control Cable Length Shall not be greater than 999 Meters.
Power Cable Entry Data (ET) Shall be from the following :
1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 or 3
Quantity of Power Cable (ET) Shall not exceed 9 meters.
Control Cable (ET) Shall be from the following :
1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 2, 2 1/2 or 3
Quantity of Control Cable (ET) Shall not exceed 9 meters.
Scope of Motor Shall be either of SELF, CLIENT or EQP_VEN
Remarks Shall not be more than 6 characters.
MCC Display / List :

This option produces MCC display / List of the records from the given data file, When the following conditions are fulfilled.

<a> The record shall have a MCC number.

<b> The number of runs & sizes of 2nd Power cable / 1st, 2nd & 3rd Control cables are displayed only when the cable is either coming FROM or going TO a MCC.
Motor Display / List :

This option produces Motor display / List of the records from the given data file , When the following conditions are fulfilled.

<a> The rating shall be in KW.

<b> The scope of supply either SELF or CLIENT.

<c> Individual Motor Display / List will be given depending upon type of enclosures as follows :

<i> IND-TEFC.

<ii> FLP-EX(d)

<iii> INCR-EX(e)

<iv> NON-SP EX(n)

<v> CACW
Push Button List :

This option produces Push Button List of the records from the given data file.

Individual Push Button List will be given depending upon type of Push Button as follows :

S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6, S7, S8, S9
F1C, F2C, F3C, F4C, F5C, F6C, F7C, F8C, F9C
Load Details Display / List :

This option produces Display / Listing of Load Details in following format from a given data file.

Display of total working / Stand By loads on the individual MCC in KW or A.

After displaying the ITEM above, it gives the Grand total of Working / Stand By loads in KW or A.
Cable Schedule :

This option produces Listing of Power / Control cables from a given data file. This listing is produced only when the First Power cable exists.
Cable MTO Display & List :

This option produces Display / Listing of Power / Control cables MTO from a given data file. The program gives summed up quantities of individual cable sizes. The individual quantity is taken as Length of cable X no. of runs.
Cable Gland Display & List :

This option produces Display / Listing of Power / Control cables Gland quantities from a given data file. Cable Glands are classified in to three different categories viz; Single compression (S), Double compression (D) and Flame proof (F). Cable gland quantities are summed up and displayed as per various Power / Control cable sizes depending upon the above mentioned classification.
